Telemedicine

Telemedicine allows healthcare specialists, such as neurologists, to see patients anywhere using an audio-visual link over the Internet. Pioneered in the United States, telemedicine is particularly valuable for people in remote areas or places with sparse healthcare facilities. Studies suggest that telemedicine can be just as effective as care received in hospitals or doctors’ surgeries. In fact, many people seem to prefer telemedicine because they feel more relaxed consulting a specialist in their own homes.
