Welcome
The EPDA are delighted to announce that, in partnership with HUBPP, The Croatian Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Association, the 7th Euroyapmeet is being held at The Regent Esplanade, Zagreb, Croatia.
This year, the euroYapmeet will focus on movement and how it can help maintain a good quality of life. The programme has been devised to encourage working together, sharing of experiences and promotion of a positive outlook so we hope that you will find it enjoyable, interesting and fun!
Friday 3 October, will be the day when everyone arrives and you will have the opportunity of getting to know each other at an informal reception and to meet your hosts, the EPDA Board and Prof. Maja Relja. A dinner and dance follows and because of limited space, we will only be able to admit 180 people. So if you would like to attend, please register as quickly as possible to reserve your place.
Saturday 4 October is the start of the conference with a plenary session in the morning that includes lively presentations highlighting the importance of music and movement as well as an Open Forum where delegates will be invited to discuss challenging issues with a multidisciplinary team.
Workshops, held during the afternoon, will aim to highlight what can be achieved by movement, rhythm and discussion. These include:
- Tai Chi
- Alexander Technique
- Salsa dancing
- Sexuality, Sensuality and Intimacy
- Nutrition and tips to stay on track
- Stress, its effect and how it can be managed
- Learning in Partnership
During the evening, we hope that a civic reception will be held in Zagreb and further details will be made available once discussions have been finalised. After the reception, delegates will have the evening free to sightsee with their friends and colleagues, and the opportunity of enjoying the local cuisine.
Sunday 5 October sees a repeat of four of the workshops, giving you the opportunity of attending as many of the sessions as possible, followed by lunch and departure.
We, the EPDA and the HUBPP, sincerely hope that people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and healthcare professionals will want to take part in this informative and enjoyable conference and we look forward to welcoming you.
With our very best wishes.
