Administration Board Responsibilities
All elected Officers are volunteers.
The following responsibilities relate to the work that needs to be carried out by its elected Officers to ensure that the EPDA work programme is managed effectively and efficiently and that the current level of activity continues to ensure growth.
All Officers have a joint responsibility:
- To the EPDA member organisations and Associate Members
- For the management of EPDA and Parkinson’s Disease International Ltd (PDI)
- To explore and encourage financial support for the work of the EPDA
- To continue to promote and enhance the ethos of the EPDA via its work programme
- To present the EPDA work programme at international conferences and events
President:
- The ‘visible’ face of the organisation
- As such, should be available to participate and to present on EPDA’s aims, activities and initiatives at events benefiting the EPDA
- Provide strategic leadership, advising on appropriate relationships that should be sought and identifying future Patrons who can benefit the EPDA
Has responsibility for:
- Democratically agreed strategic direction of the EPDA’s work programme
- Ensuring that EPDA members are fully represented and participate in the organisation’s work programme
- Ensuring that close liaison is maintained with the European Parliament, European Commission and World Health Organisation
Vice President:
- Deputises for the President in relation to all EPDA activities as listed above during the President’s absence
Treasurer:
Has responsibility for:
- Ensuring that the financial procedure is maintained accurately
- That an annual audit is carried out in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and International Standards, and that the financial statements give a true and fair view, and are properly prepared in accordance with the Association’s Memorandum & Articles of Association
Secretary:
Has responsibility for:
- Ensuring that all legal requirements associated with the administration and organisation of the General Assembly are properly fulfilled and are in accordance with the Memorandum & Articles of Association.
